You must have seen ads and posts about Citipointe Live coming to Manila this month. Maybe you’ve registered for their Ultimate Worshiper workshop or you’ve already bought your ticket to their concert… Or you may still be thinking about it! Which ever the case is, get to know more about this team from Brisbane, Australia!!!

I first found out about Citpointe Live when we started singing their songs in church. You may have sung some of their songs in your church too. Remember the songs “You Reign“, “Name of Jesus” and “Son of the Living God” — that’s them! My favorite is  ”Captivated”. It goes….”I’m captivated by forever with you…” Hhmm..better if you just listen the song than imagine me singing that! (The only site I found with this song is Becky Lucas’ myspace page, I’ll give you guys that link in a bit!)

Citipointe Live is the worship team of Citipointe Church Brisbane, a church that impacts their surrounding area through community care and youth programs such as Red Frogs (High School and University Chaplaincy); then it reaches around the world through Church planting, Praise and Worship music, Leadership Training and Development, Missions, and International Care and Aid such as She Rescue Homes (rescuing trafficked children).

Aaron Lucas

Aaron Lucas and his wife Becky have paved the heart and sound of Citipointe Live’s music.  As an accomplished song writer, producer and worship leader, his great gift in songwriting has seen him write powerful hits such as “You Reign” which continues to touch lives around the globe.

Aaron Lucas’ heart is to inspire the church around the world to know “why they do what they do” in worship. In fact, one of his recent blog posts touches on this and more — Aaron didn’t just talk about the “why’s when it comes to worship” but he also talks about the “why’s in everything we do” too… Here are parts of that blog post:

“Sometimes I reflect inwardly (as we all do sometimes) and ask myself the question…. “Why am I doing this?”  What’s my purpose, my reasoning, my motive behind what I’m doing right now?  We’re sitting here at Andrew Cochrane’s studio mixing the latest Citipointe Live tracks and I’m asking myself, “Why spend so many hours in the studio creating music?”

I know it seems like a pretty simple question to answer, but asking yourself the question “WHY” can ultimately define and direct where your life and more so, where your heart is heading.”

“….In a way, this blog is me just spilling my heart and thoughts. I’m actually answering the question “Why”, right now. So, whatever you’re doing right now, it very well may be chillin in a studio producing music, working your 9-5 job or pursuing the dream that wakes you up in the morning… Take some time and check yourself. Check your heart and make sure your motives line up with His.”

Becky Lucas

Becky Lucas is the Worship Pastor at Citipointe Church Brisbane, Australia. Pursuing quality and excellence, she aspires to see others fulfill their dreams and push people to greater heights in their unique calling. With a real and down to earth approach to life and ministry, her ‘transparent’ style of worship is evident in each song she delivers.

Becky Lucas understands that to fulfill God’s call in a person’s life, they must first be able to see themselves the way God sees them. This core belief creates the underlying tone to all her music and you will definitely notice it as you listen to “Captivated” (my favorite Citipointe Live song), which she wrote.

Joel Ramsey

Joel Ramsey is son to Senior Pastor Mark and Leigh Ramsey of Citipointe Church Brisbane, Australia. At 22 years old, Joel is a man making his mark on the next generation. His heart focuses on young people finding their true place of worship with God. His passion for songwriting comes from a deep desire to see young people be more than they could think or imagine.

Joel Ramsey is the writer of songs such as ‘Desperate’ and ‘All For The One’ and co-writer of the hit track, ‘Statement of Love.’

Aside from songwriting and playing with Citipointe Love, Joel Ramsey also actively supports the vision of Citipointe Church SHE Rescue home for children trafficked through prostitution in Cambodia.

Guess what? Citipointe Live is excited to be in Manila this month for a series of events!!! This is what they wrote in their blog:

Hey Everyone!

Well we are very excited and looking forward to our touch down in the beautiful regions of Cambodia and the Philippines! Fanning this flame of excitement is our belief that there will be such an opportunity for our team to impart something unique and fresh into the minds, hearts and lives of all those who are to fellowship with us. It truly will be such a time of precious worship moments and revelation as God’s presence can not help but come as His Church and His people choose to sacrifice their time to meet and love Him.

So just to give you all the run down, we will be holding a series of Masterclass workshops called the Ultimate Worshipper which will highlight the spiritual and practical elements of what is needed to effectively fulfill our call as worshippers in the modern day church. The classes range from insightful topics that depict what it means to have true worship in our hearts through to streamlined electives options that aim to refine your practical giftings in the areas of the Vocalist, the Musician and the Production Technician. Along with this, Citipointe Live will be leading worship at various events across the Philippines and areas of Cambodia.
